The Drupal 8 configuration system can provide great advantages to managing the configuration of a site, but it can also cause massive headaches if used improperly. This presentation will provide an overview of how the Drupal 8 configuration system works, best practices on basic workflows to utilize it effectively, and a small sampling of some of the contributed modules available to enhance it.
If you'd like to participate in the in-class exercises, then you'll want to set up a new Drupal 8 install on your local machine. Optionally, a remote development environment for the same site.
It is important to note that much of the value of this workshop is about learning how to manage Drupal 8 configuration across different environments. If you are comfortable setting up a remote development environment for your local, that would be advisable. Please note that we will not have time in class to troubleshoot environment setup issues.
